MHRD Minister Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal has confirmed via a tweet that he will be holding a LIVE online session with students and parents on 3rd December from 12 pm onwards. The session would mainly emphasize on the upcoming board exams and other prominent competitive exams such as JEE Main and NEET. Students who want to convey their messages to the MHRD minister can share their suggestions on twitter by using the #EducationMinisterGoesLive. On Friday, the Education Minister indicated that the exams would be conducted after a proper interaction with students, teachers and parents. He also told the media that a campaign is being processed regarding the same.
As per Press Trust of India, Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal said – โI will have an interaction with parents, students and teachers in this regard and exams will only be conducted based on the outcome of the interactionโ.
On Friday, 27th December at 2.35 pm, Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal tweeted from his official twitter handle- โDear students, I understand that 2020 hasnโt been the best year for you & you have been worried about your future. I will be meeting you live on Dec 3 to discuss the upcoming competitive & board #exams. Share your concerns/suggestions with me using #EducationMinisterGoesLive.โ
The MHRD minister has already spoken out regarding the challenges faced in conducting the exams amidst the COVID 19 pandemic. But he also mentioned that conducting the examinations is crucial for aspirants who are seeking admissions in the desired higher educational institutions.
ย He said -โDespite the uncertainty looming around due to the COVID 19 pandemic, it is crucial to conduct board examinations as well as entrance examinations for admissions to higher educational institutionsโ.
As there is a massive surge in COVID-19 cases, many state governments have closed the schools again. Also, CBSE is yet to announce the schedule for the 2021 session (which generally is declared by the month of November every year). The government had earlier hinted that the CBSE board exams might get delayed by a month or two. Although, no official confirmation by the officials at the Central Board of Secondary Education has been recorded yet.
Further, JEE Main officials also said recently that the JEE Main 2021 January session is likely to be shifted to February 2021. The Education Minister previously also said that the syllabus for CBSE board and other competitive examinations ought to be reduced to make it fair for the students.
