New Delhi, 7 February 2023 – Punjab Police Recruitment 2023 – The Punjab Police Recruitment Board has invited applications for as many as 1,746 Constable and 288 Sub Inspector (SI) positions. 

While the application process for SI positions will begin at 7 pm on 7 February 2023,  registration for Constable vacancies will commence on 15 February 2023.

The deadline for direct recruitment to the position of Sub Inspector in the Punjab Police’s district police and armed police cadres is 28 February 2023. 

Applications for Constable posts must be submitted by 8 March 2023.

Selection Process
The three-stage selection procedure will include the following phases:

Stage 1 Three computer-based, multiple choice question type papers, namely Paper I, Paper II, and Paper III, will make up Stage I, with Paper III serving as a qualifying paper.
Stage 2
  • Physical Measurement Test (PMT) and Physical Screening Test will make up Stage II (PST). 
  • PST, as well as PMT, shall both be qualifying in nature.
Stage 3 Document verification will be stage III.

Physical Measurement Test and Physical Screening Test

Candidates called for Stage II will have their height measured, and those who meet or exceed the minimum height requirement will be deemed to have passed the Physical Measurement Test.

The following events make up the Physical Screening Test, which is qualifying in nature:

  • Candidates must finish 1400 meters walk and run in 12 minutes. Only one chance will be provided.
  • Candidates must finish 10 full squats within 3 minutes. Only one chance will be provided.
Female candidates
  • Candidates must finish the 800 meters run in 7:00 minutes. Only one chance will be provided.
  • Candidates must clear 2.75 meters in the long jump. Only three chances will be provided.
  • Candidates must clear 0.90 meters in the high jump. Only three chances will be provided.
