CUET 2022 – Revised Marking Scheme & Other Changes
- In the initial information bulletin, it was mentioned that if a question is removed from the exam, candidates who have already taken the exam will be given 5 extra points to compensate. According to the latest modifications, if a question is deemed to be incorrect (or if a question is dropped from the test), only candidates who attempted the dropped question will be awarded 5 marks.
- NTA has also removed the following clause – “Evaluation of multiple-choice questions of all the tests/subjects will be carried out using final answer keys and raw (actual) marks acquired by a candidate will be considered further for computation of the result of CUET (UG)-2022.” NTA has since eliminated this clause.
- Boards marks will not play a significant role in CUET and will not be a criterion for admission; nonetheless, universities are allowed to choose the eligibility requirements for admission. For example, a university may maintain a minimum of 60% in 12th grade as an admission criterion.
- The exam is divided into two sections, the first focused on language, the second on the specific topic domain for which the students are seeking admission, and the third on general aptitude.
- The ‘Language’ section is further subdivided into two sections: 1A (which contains 13 language papers) and 1B (which has 19 language papers). If a student wishes to graduate in a specific language, he or she must select ‘Language Paper Form 1B’. A student may select a maximum of three languages from sections 1A and 1B combined.
- The domain-specific part has 27 subjects, from which a student can select no more than six. If a subject is not included in the domain-specific list, a student may select a subject that is closely linked to the domain list. For example, if a student wishes to pursue a career in biotechnology, they may select biology as a topic. NCERT will provide the domain-specific questions.
- Questions on the General test will cover topics such as general knowledge, current events, general mental aptitude, quantitative reasoning, and logical & analytical thinking.
