New Delhi, 18 January 2022 – Candidates appearing for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Post Graduate Counselling 2021 (NEET PG Counselling 2021) are demanding that the government postpone the NEET PG 2022 exam. This is because the date for the PG counselling and the date for the PG entrance exam are overlapping this year.
Due to which, candidates are worried that if they are unable to get a seat in the counselling, they also won’t be able to sit for the NEET PG exam. This has led to aspirants asking the government for a delay in the PG exam, so that candidates who are unable to get a seat in PG counselling can still appear for the PG entrance exam.
How is NEET PG Counselling 2021 Overlapping with the NEET PG Entrance Exam 2022?
As per the planned schedule announced by the National Testing Agency (NTA), the NEET PG 2022 exam will be held on 12 March 2022. In addition to that, the last date to join medical colleges after the NEET PG counselling’s third round is 16 March 2022.
Due to this, candidates who hold marginal ranks in the counselling list are worried that if they don’t get a seat, they will not be able to sit for the NEET PG 2022 exam. This will cause them to lose a precious year of preparation and put many students at a disadvantage.
What are Candidates Saying About the Overlap?
Candidates are majorly distressed about the fact that if they are unable to get a seat, there won’t be any possibility for them to sit in the NEET PG 2022 exam, as the dates for counselling as well as the exam overlap.
A student, Aditya Nevase, stated on Twitter:
