RRB Group D Recruitment 2023: Single-Stage Exam Will Now Be Conducted

New Delhi, 11 April 2022: The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has decided to withdraw the changes introduced by the Railway board in the RRB Group D 2022 exam. As per the new notification, the board has announced to hold only a single-stage computer-based test (CBT) for the RRB Group D exam 2022 from now on, instead of two tests.

The board introduced a new calculation of normalized marks for multi-session papers. Normalization of marks will now be based on the percentile-based method.
Based on the performance of candidates in CBT subject to their qualifying in the Physical Efficiency Test (PET), the number of extra candidates to be called for document verification shall be 5% beyond the number of notified vacancies. Based on the performance of candidates in CBT subject to their qualifying in the Physical Efficiency Test (PET), the number of candidates to be called for document verification shall henceforth be equal to the number of notified vacancies (i.e. in the ratio of 1:1).

Candidates belonging to the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) category have to produce certificates issued before April 12, 2019. Now, candidates belonging to the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) category will be able to submit the certificates issued even after the date of notification will also be considered valid documents.

RRB Group D Recruitment 2022: New Changes

  • As per the new notification, the Railway Recruitment Board has modified some of the โ€œitemsโ€ listed in the Centralised Employment Notice No.RRC-01/2019. In the notification, the Railway Recruitment Board has made changes in various aspects of the examination such as EWS (Economically Weaker Section) reservation, normalization of marks of multi-sessional papers, preference of posts, and document verification.
  • The RRB has discontinued stage two of the CBT (Computer Based Test) and there will now be only one, single-stage, CBT exam.
  • The RRB said that the candidates belonging to the EWS category can present a certificate issued after the date of notification at the time of document verification.
  • The RRB has also made changes to the number of candidates called for document verification.
  • The RRB also made some changes to the designation of Assistant Pointsman. As per the new notification, the designation will now be known as โ€˜Pointsman.โ€™ย 

Note:ย 

  • Earlier, candidates were called for document verification, after qualifying in the CBT and Physical Efficiency Test (PET), which was 1.05 times or five percent more than the number of vacancies. However, the RRB has now decided that the number of candidates called for document verification will be equal to the number of notified vacancies.
  • The RRB stated that the normalization of marks will be based on the percentile-based method. In case two or more candidates get the same percentile score, the candidatesโ€™ merit will be decided by age criteria.
  • The candidates must note that the RRB Group D examination is scheduled to be conducted from July 2022 onwards.
