NEET MDS 2022 Postponed by 4-6 Weeks, Internship Duration Extended

New Delhi, 18 February 2022 – As per an official notice by the Ministry of Health & Family Affairs, the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Masters of Dental Surgery (NEET MDS) 2022 may be postponed by four to six weeks. The exam, which was earlier scheduled to be conducted on 6 March 2022, will now be conducted at a later date. The ministry will soon announce new dates on the official website.

The ministry has decided to postpone the exam after several students on social media demanded to postpone the NEET MDS 2022 exam. Additionally, keeping studentsโ€™ demands in mind, the duration of NEET MDS internship has also been extended. Candidates can now complete their internship by 31 July 2022, instead of 31 March 2022.ย

News agency ANI reported the postponement news and tweeted, โ€œIt has been decided by the Competent Authority that the date for conduct of NEET-MDS examination, 2022 may be postponed by 4-6 weeks and preferably around the same date as that for NEET-PG 2022: Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.โ€

NEET MDS 2022 – What is the Reason for Exam Postponement?ย

The demands to postpone the exam surfaced after the health ministry decided to postpone the NEET PG 2022 exam by 6-8 weeks on 4 February 2022. Seeing this, NEET MDS aspirants stated that the authorities did not consider their issues and demanded that the MDS exam be postponed as well.ย

Another reason for the postponement was that the NEET MDS 2022 registration ended on 24 January 2022 and the exam was scheduled for 6 March 2022. This gave only 2 months preparation time to aspirants, which was considered very less by many candidates. This also led to increased demands for the postponement of the exam.
