New Delhi, 02 August 2022 – JNV Admission 2022 – The Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti has started applications for admission to Class 11 against vacant seats in the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNV) in Science, Commerce, Vocational and Humanities streams.Β 

Candidates who studied Class 10 in academic session 2021-22 in Government or Government recognized schools where JNV is functioning in the same district (or state) can apply through the official website of Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti – navodaya.gov.in – till August 18.

  • Candidates must have studied Class 10 in academic session 2021-22 in Govt./Govt. recognized school in the same district/state where JNV is functioning, and to which they are seeking admission.
  • Date of birth of the candidate should be between 1st June 2005 and 31st May 2007 (both days inclusive).Β 
  • This is applicable to all categories of candidates including those who belong to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.

JNV Admission 2022 – Selection Process

Selection of candidates will be done as per following steps:

  • District-wise merit lists will be prepared and students will be selected against the vacancies.
  • After selecting students against the vacancies in the JNV of the district, a common merit list will be prepared at state level.
  • The selected students will be informed by the Principal of the concerned JNV by SMS/Speed post.
  • Newly admitted students have to undergo medical check-up by the Vidyalaya doctor.
  • Students suffering from infectious disease/serious ailments shall not be admitted.
  • Ten days orientation programme will be arranged for newly admitted students to reduce the learning gaps and to adapt them for the new educational environment.

Note: Candidates who belong to NCC, scout & guides, and sports & games streams and seek admission in Science, Commerce, Vocational and Humanities are entitled to get additional weightage. For more information, candidates can click here.Β

How to Apply for JNV Admission 2022?

To apply for JNV admission 2022, the candidates need to follow the given steps:

  • The candidates are required to fill the online application form directly on the NVS website
  • On the homepage, they are required to click on the link that mentions :’Click here to register through online portal for class XI lateral entry admission for the session 2022-23′
  • A new webpage will open
  • Then, the candidates are required to register, and then, log in using their registration number and password
  • JNV Class 11 admission form will appear on the screen
  • Candidates are then required to fill in the form and submit the asked documents
  • Finally, the candidates are required to submit the application form and take a printout for further references

JNV Admission 2022 – Fee Structure

  • While education in the schools is free including board & lodging, uniform and textbooks, a sum of Rs. 600 per month is collected only from the students of Classes 9 to 12 towards Vidyalaya Vikas Nidhi (VVN).Β 
  • However, students belonging to SC/ST categories, girl students, and the students whose family income is below poverty line (BPL) are exempted.Β 
  • In respect of wards of Government employees other than exempted category (students of classes 6 to 8, all SC/ST & girl students and wards of BPL families) Vikas Nidhi will be charged Rs. 1500 per month or equal to the actual children education allowance received by the parent per month whichever is less.
  • However, Vidyalaya Vikas Nidhi (VVN) shall not be less than Rs. 600 per student per month.

  • After assessing JNV-wise & stream-wise vacant seats, the selected students list will be notified at the Vidyalaya notice board as well as published in the website of JNVs concerned.Β

  • Good-quality modern education for talented children predominantly from rural areas.
  • Co-educational and fully residential, up to Class 12.
  • Free education including boarding and lodging as well as expenses on uniforms, text books, and stationery, etc.
  • The medium of instruction in JNVs is the mother tongue or regional language up to Class 8. After that, the medium is English for Mathematics & Science and Hindi/English for Social Science.Β 
  • Students of JNVs appear for CBSE board examinations.
  • 30% of students in Class 11 from a Vidyalaya located in a Hindi-speaking area spend one academic year in a Vidyalaya in non-Hindi speaking area and vice-versa to promote national integration through understanding of the diversity and plurality of the country’s culture and people.
