Previously, on 15th December 2020 (Wednesday), the National Testing Agency (NTA) released an official information brochure on the official website- jeemain.nta.nic.in. The brochure contained information regarding the JEE Main 2021 schedule and other essential information. However, the brochure was removed from the official website by 7 pm on the same day. On the removal of the official brochure from NTA’s website, the Education Ministry later stated that “no decision has been taken on JEE Main dates yet” and that “NTA has denied the report”.
Though the syllabus remains the same, the exam authorities have introduced a “relaxation” in the exam pattern after receiving suggestions from students. The candidates must now attempt 75 out of the 90 questions- which means an additional 5 questions in each of the subjects (Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics) have been added. Candidates must attempt any 25 questions in each section. Also, for the first time, the JEE Main will be conducted in as many as 13 languages, which includes regional languages like Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi, Malayalam, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu as well.
NTA also commenced the application process for the JEE Main 2021 on 16th December 2020 on its official website-jeemain.nta.nic.in. Eligible candidates must apply before 16th January 2021, which is the deadline for submitting the application forms for the February session of the exam. The application forms for the remaining session will be released after the completion of the JEE Main 2021 (February session).
