There is a significant difference between the qualifying cutoff marks of 2019 and 2018 for general category. In 2018, the minimum cutoff marks for common rank list were 74 but the number was increased to 90 in 2019. Many factors cause rise in the minimum cutoff marks to be secured to qualify for JEE Advanced. Last year, it was the first time when JEE Main was conducted twice and hence, the cutoff was comparatively lower than the previous year.
Following are the factors that make JEE Main cutoff volatile
National Institute of Technology (NITs), Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIITs) and Centrally Funded Technical Institutes (CFTIs) are the major participating institutes of JEE Main 2020. With valid JEE Main scores, candidates will be able to participate in the admission process of 23 IITs, 31 NITs, 25 IIITs and 28 CFTIs. Apart from the participating institutes of JEE Main 2020, there are various other engineering colleges/ universities that offer admission on the basis of JEE Main ranks of candidates.
The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) will conduct the JEE Main Counselling from June 15, 2020. Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD) has constituted JoSAA to regulate and manage counselling of JEE Main for admission to 107 engineering institutions including 23 IITs, 31 NITs, 25 IIITs and 28 CFTIs. The centralized admission process by JoSAA will enable candidates to participate in the admission process of these institutes through a single platform. Candidates need to follow the following steps to participate in the counselling process:
Candidates will not be allowed to modify the choice of colleges once locked.
No. The qualifying cutoff marks will make you eligible to participate in JEE Advanced 2020.
It is expected that the cutoff of JEE Main 2020 will be released with result on April 30.
Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) will be releasing the JEE Main admission cutoff 2020. The admission cutoff lists will be released for NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs.
JoSAA will publish the admission cutoff after completion of each round of seal allotment.
NTA will release the qualifying cutoff for JEE Main 2020 with April result which is slotted to be released on April 30. The admission cutoff of JEE Main 2020 will be released by JoSAA after each round of seat allotment at NITs, GFTIs, and IIITs.
The candidates who meet the qualifying rank of JEE Main qualifying cutoff 2020 will be considered eligible for JEE Advanced 2020.
It is advised to the candidates not to waste their precious year even if they don’t secure admission in any of the top-notch engineering colleges. JEE Main score is valid in thousands of good engineering colleges and then should prepare a plan B in advance to handle such situations.
