JEE Advanced Likely to be Rescheduled; JEE Main Clashes with MHT CET/BITSAT/SRMJEE

New Delhi, 14 April 2022 – The Joint Entrance Examination Advanced (JEE Advanced) 2022 exam is likely to be rescheduled and the revised dates will be announced soon on the official website – jeeadv.ac.in. The change in JEE Advanced date was inevitable as the dates for JEE Main 2022 were revised to July 2022. As JEE Advanced was scheduled for July 3 and it is normally conducted one month after JEE Main, it was evident that the date for the same will be revised. Latest reports from media now claim that the revised dates will be updated soon on the official website.

In another development, the JEE Main 2022 exam now clashes with private engineering entrance examinations like the MHT CET, BITSAT, SRMJEE, among others. The dates for the JEE Main exam are already revised twice and it seems improbable that the NTA will revise it once more. This leaves engineering aspirants in a crunch, as they have to prioritise between JEE Main and other exams for admission into engineering courses.Β

IIT Bombay is likely to release an official notification confirming the revised exam schedule for JEE Advanced soon. The revised schedule will be published online on the official website – jeeadv.ac.in. However, there is no confirmation as to when the revised dates will be declared.Β

The JEE Main 2022 second session is continuing until July end, due to which, the earliest timeline for JEE Advanced 2022 is most likely to be 3rd week or 4th week of August.Β

Note: While contemplating the most probable date for the exam, we need to keep in mind that there is typically a 1-month gap between both the exams.

JEE Main Clashes with MHT CET, BITSAT, SRMJEEΒ

  • As per the revised schedule, the first session of JEE Main will now be held from June 20 to 29 and the second session will be held from July 21 to 30.Β
  • Similarly, the MHT CET 2022 exam will be conducted from June 11 to 23 by the State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra.Β
  • The SRMJEE is scheduled from June 25 to 26, 2022
  • The BITSAT exam’s first session will be held from June 20 to 26. The second session is scheduled from July 22 to 26, 2022.

This overlap of dates has caused a clash between the given exams. However, it seems unlikely that NTA will reschedule JEE Main dates for the fourth time. Most likely, the state and private colleges are expected to reschedule the dates for their respective private exams.
