New Class 12 Board Exam Dates to be Deliberated Upon After 1 June

Union Education Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal declared yesterday that the Class 12 board exams have been postponed while the Class 10 board exams have been cancelled. Pokhriyal made this important announcement in a series of tweets after PM Narendra Modi chaired a high-level meeting to review the examinations that are to be held at various levels in view of the coronavirus situation in the country.

CBSE Board Exams 2021 Postponement/Cancellation – Highlights 

1. Class 12 board examination has been postponed. Deliberation on the new dates of Class 12 exams will be done on 1 June 2021 and shared duly with the students, parents and teachers. 

Note: CBSE Class 12 board examinations were previously scheduled to be conducted from 4 May 2021 to 14 June 2021.

2. A notice of at least 15 days will be given before the start of the Class 12 board examinations.

3. On the other hand, the Class 10 board examinations have been cancelled.  

4. Class 10 students shall be assessed on an objective criterion, which is to be developed the Board. 

Note: CBSE Class 10 board examinations were previously scheduled to be conducted from 4 May 2021 to 14 June 2021.

5. Any candidate who is not satisfied with his/her marks, as per the objective criterion decided by the Board, will be given a chance to sit for the exam, as and when the situation is favourable.
