BHU (Banaras Hindu University) conducts an annual entrance exam for both undergraduate and postgraduate aspirants. Regarded as one of the largest residential universities in Asia, BHU paves the way for thousands of aspirants seeking admission in UG and PG courses like B.Sc, B.Com, B.Ed, B.F.A, B.A, M.A, M.Sc, M.Com, M.F.A, and M.Ed, apart from some language courses. Both the UET (Undergraduate Entrance Test) and the PET (Postgraduate Entrance Test) are conducted in the computer-based test mode. Thereafter, the selection of the candidates is done on the basis of the merit obtained in the entrance exam. BHU releases cut offs in the form of opening and closing ranks for the respective courses and eligible candidates may attend the counselling afterwards, as per their entrance rank.
BHU recently postponed the UET and PET exams which were scheduled to take place on 26th April and 10th May 2020 respectively. The decision is taken due to the extension of the national COVID-19 lockdown. The extension of the exam dates would proportionally influence the extension of dates for other important events like result date, cut off dates and counselling process. The cutoffs for the UET and PET 2020 are scheduled to be released in the 1st week of July 2020 (as of now).
