BHU Admission Exam Dates – Schedule for UG & PG Exams

BHU or Banaras Hindu University, located in Varanasi, is regarded as one of the largest residential universities in the whole of Asia. The university conducts an annual entrance exam for thousands of aspirants seeking admission in various UG and PG courses. The UET (Undergraduate Entrance Test) is a gateway for students who aspire to pursue courses like B.Com Hons, B.Sc (Agriculture), B.Sc ( Mathematics), B.Sc (Biology), B.Ed ( Mathematics), B Ed ( Humanities and Social Sciences, B.A Hons Arts, B.A Hons ( Social Sciences), B.Physical Education and various vocational courses. For the aspirants seeking the postgraduate courses, there are various specialized courses in Institute of Science, Faculty of Commerce, Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Performing Arts, Faculty of Visual Arts and Faculty of Sanskrit Vidya Dharma Vijnan. Both UET (Undergraduate Entrance Test) and PET (Postgraduate Entrance Test) exams are conducted in the computer based test mode in as many as 200 cities across the country.

The application process for both UG and PG entrance exams started from 30th of January 2020 and the application window closed on the 12th of March 2020. The entrance tests for various courses were previously scheduled to take place between 10th July 2020 to 29th July, but with concern towards the safety of the aspirants against the Covid 19 pandemic, the governing body of the BHU entrance exam has again decided to reschedule the exam dates. Thus, the UET and PET exams will now take place between 16th August 2020 to 31st August 2020 and the exact revised dates of the exam will be notified shortly on the official website of the β€˜Banaras Hindu University’.

BHU Admission Dates – Examination Pattern 

There are a total of 150 questions in the BHU entrance test. The duration of the entrance test is 2 hours. Candidates get 3 marks for every correct attempt, whereas a reduction of 1 mark will be done on every wrong attempt. The selection of the candidates is done on the basis of merit and the number of seats available for various categories of the respective courses. The exam pattern for both UET (Undergraduate Entrance Test) and PET (Postgraduate Entrance Test) is the same.

BHU Admission Dates – Exam Day Instructions 

  • Candidates must carry the admit card on the day of the exam, inability to do may lead to the rejection of the candidature.
  • Eligible candidates must also carry an original document for identity verification such as the Aadhar card, PAN card or Driving License. 
  • Candidates must reach the examination centre at least 30 minutes before the exam to avoid any last minute hassles.
  • Aspirants must not carry any cheating or objectionable material inside the exam hall. Strict action will be taken if the authorities find any suspicious material from the applicants.

Q. When will the BHU undergraduate entrance exams start?

Ans. The BHU Undergraduate Entrance exams were previously scheduled to start from the 10th of July 2020. But amidst the outbreak of the Covid 19 pandemic, BHU officials have extended the exam dates for both UET and PET exams. The exams will now be conducted from 16th August 2020 to 31st August 2020.

Q. Has the application deadline for the BHU UET 2020 passed?

Ans. Yes, the last date to fill the application form for the BHU undergraduate entrance test was 12th March 2020. Aspirants can not fill the application after the deadline.

Q. Has BHU revised the exam dates for all the UG and PG entrance tests?

Ans. Yes, BHU has revised the schedule for all the the UET and PET exams which were scheduled to be conducted between 10th July to 29th July.
