Internet to be Suspended During Assam Direct Recruitment Exams 2022

The Government of Assam has decided to suspend mobile internet connectivity during the Assam direct recruitment exams 2022, which are to be conducted to fill up more than 26,400 grade III and grade IV vacancies in the state. 

Internet connectivity will be suspended for 4 hours on August 21, August 28, and September 11, 2022 – during which the exams are to be conducted in Assam.

This is being done to eradicate any possible instance of cheating in the Assam state recruitment exams and to give each candidate a fair chance of being selected for the open job positions.

  • Nearly 14 lakh applicants will appear for the Assam direct recruitment exams 2022 on August 21, August 28, and September 11, 2022.
  • The candidates will appear for the exams for more than 26,400 grade III and grade IV posts in 25 districts of the state.
  • To ensure that the exams are conducted smoothly and that there are no instances of cheating, the government will suspend internet connectivity for 4 hours during each exam.
  • This will be done in the areas where the exams are being conducted and not throughout the entire state. 

Candidates must note that only mobile internet services will be suspended in specific areas, where the Assam recruitment exams are being conducted. However, broadband internet services will remain operational during the exams.

Assam Direct Recruitment Exams 2022 – Adequate Security Measures To Be Undertaken

Assam Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, held a virtual meeting with concerned District Collectors (DCs) and other stakeholders to ensure that the exams are conducted smoothly on the specified dates. 

He noted that he has “shared SOPs and asked DCs to adhere to these in letter and spirit with adequate security measures. There won’t be any leniency in maintaining the exam’s sanctity. Asked DCs and SPs to be ready with men and materials to thwart unscrupulous elements from disrupting exams.”

What are Assam Direct Recruitment Exams 2022?

The Government of Assam has constituted a commission called Assam Direct Recruitment Commission to carry out the recruitment processes for Grade III and Grade IV posts of various departments. 

Candidates need to be Class 8, Class 10, or Class 12-passed to apply for grade IV posts, while grade III posts either require Class 12 or a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university to apply.
