Indian Army Agniveer 2023 Registration Open till Mar 15, Check Details

New Delhi, 17 February 2023 – Indian Army Agniveer 2023 – The Indian Army is accepting online applications from unmarried male candidates for Agniveer selection tests for the recruiting year 2023-24 under the Agnipath scheme.

Eligible candidates may apply on the Indian Army’s official website. This registration process will end on 15 March 2023, serving as the first step in the recruitment procedure. The online Common Entrance Exam (CEE) exam will be held from 17 April 2023, onward.

According to the notification, applications are being accepted for various divisions including Agra, Amethi, Bareilly, Mainpuri, Firozabad, Lalitpur, Aligarh, Jhansi, Jalaun, Etawah, Meerut, Bangalore, and many more. 

Candidates will be given five options for examination centres, and they will be assigned one based on their preferences.

Indian Army Agniveer 2023 Recruitment – Eligibility

Age Limit

Candidates must be between 17 and 21 years old. They must have been born between 01 October 2002 and 01 April 2006 (both dates included).

Educational Qualification

Agniveer (General Duty) (All Arms) 

  • For the position of Agniveer (General Duty), candidates must have passed Class 10 with an aggregate of 45% and a score of 33% in each subject.
  • A minimum of a ‘D’ grade (33%-44%) in individual subjects or grades with 33% in individual subjects and an overall aggregate of “C2” or equivalent corresponding to 45% in aggregate is required for boards using the grading system.

Agniveer (Technical) (All Arms)

  • Candidates applying for the position of Agniveer (General Duty) must have passed their Class 12 exam in Science with Physics, Chemistry, Math, and English with a minimum of 50% overall and 40% in each subject.
  • Candidates who have taken the Class 10 and Class 12 board exams and are awaiting the results are also eligible to apply, as long as they meet all of the other qualitative requirements.

Application Fee

The application fee for the online Common Entrance Exam is INR 500 per candidate, but this will be reduced by 50% for the army, so the candidates will just need to pay INR 250 as part of the application process.

Salary and Other Compensation

Salary: The starting salary for those selected for Agniveer in the armed forces is INR 4.75 lacs, increasing to approximately INR 6.92 lacs by the fourth year. Candidates will also receive allowances for areas like risk and hardship, rations, clothing, and transportation in addition to their annual salary.

Seva Nidhi: Candidates are also eligible for a Seva Nidhi package worth INR 11.71 lakh. Interest will be paid on the above amount based on the applicable interest rates. Individuals will contribute 30% of their monthly earnings, while the government will contribute an equal amount.

Death compensation: Candidates are eligible for non-contributory life insurance coverage of INR 48 lakhs, with an additional ex-gratia of INR 44 lakh for service-related death.

  • There will be two stages to the selection process. 
  • The first phase will be an online Common Entrance Exam at computer-based test centres across India, followed by recruitment rallies at rally venues by Army Recruiting Offices (AROs).

Step 4: Candidates must read all the instructions carefully and click on the “Continue” link.

Step 5: Candidates must register by providing either their Aadhar number or matriculation certificate details. DigiLocker will retrieve the data for the applicants.



Step 6: Applicants must now upload all the required documents and pay the application fee.
