Selection Process

The selection for Special Officer (SO) posts will be done through a three-phase process, namely, preliminary exam, mains exam, and interview. The candidates have to clear each stage to be eligible for the next stage of selection.

  • Preliminary exam
    • The written test will be divided into two stages, namely, Stage 1 and Stage 2.
    • Each stage will consist of 150 questions for 125 marks.
    • The maximum time limit for each stage is 40 minutes.
  • Mains exam
    • Each stage will consist of 60 questions for 60 marks.
    • The maximum time limit for each stage is 45 minutes.
    • A 0.25 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
  • Interview
    • Candidates must pass the mains exam to be eligible for the interview round.
    • The total marks allotted for the interview are 100.
    • Candidates must score a minimum of 40% marks in the interview round.
    • Candidates must carry the following documents at the interview:
