WBCHSE 2022 Class 12 Exams May Get Rescheduled Due To By-Elections

New Delhi, 17 March 2022: The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) may reschedule the Class 12 state board examinations due to a date clash with the by-polls to the Asansol Lok Sabha seat and Ballygunge assembly constituency.ย  The WBCHSE 2022 Class 12 board examination is scheduled to be conducted from Apr 2, 2022 to Apr 26, 2022 and the by-polls will be starting on April 12, which will go on until April 16.ย 

On Wednesday, during an interaction with students who returned from the war-torn country of Ukraine, Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee addressed the date clash between the by-election and the WB state board for class 12. Accordingly, postponement of class 12 state board examinations 2022 may be required and is under discussion. However, there is no official notification as of now.ย

Previously, the WBCHSE released a revised date sheet for the class 12 state board exam to prevent the date of examination from coinciding with the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2022. The state board exam for class 12 was to be scheduled from April 2 to April 20. As per the revised date sheet, the exams will be scheduled from April 18 to April 26.

A week later,ย  the National Testing Agency (NTA) rescheduled the JEE Main 2022 examination date in consideration of a direct date conflict with various state board examinations. As per the official notice, the JEE Main 2022 examination for the first session is now scheduled to be held from Apr 21, 2022 to May 4, 2022 instead of April 16 to April 21, 2022.
