UPSEE Counselling – Detailed Process, Seat Reservations

Aspirants who qualify the UPSEE 2020 exam will be called for the counselling and seat allotment process by the conducting authority. Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) will conduct the counselling for UPSEE 2020 in online mode after the declaration of result. In order to appear for the UPSEE counselling, candidates will be required to register themselves for the process. Also, the aspirants will be able to lock their preferred choice of colleges. The UPSEE 2020 results are scheduled to be announced on 15th October 2020 and the counselling process will begin from 19th October 2020.

AKTU will conduct the counselling and seat allotment process after verifying the documents of the candidates.  There will be four rounds for UPSEE 2020 counselling and two spot rounds. The final seats will be alloted on the basis of the scores secured by the candidates in UPSEE 2020, cut off scores, preferences of colleges and courses, and seat availability. UPSEE Counselling – Detailed Process

The official dates for the conduct of counselling and seat allotment process for UPSEE 2020 is yet to be released by the university. The UPSEE 2020 exam is scheduled to be conducted on September 20, 2020. It was initially supposed to be conducted on May 10, 2020, but had to be postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic across the nation.

We have put down the detailed UPSEE 2020 counselling process below. 

Step 1:

  1. The candidates have to register themselves for the counselling and seat allotment process in online mode on the official website of the university.
  2. Aspirants must enter their UPSEE roll number, application number, date of birth, and their father’s name to complete the registration process.
  3. After successful registration, the candidates have to fill in the other required information along with uploading the required documents.
  4. The last step would be payment of the registration fee. The fee can be paid via online mode of payment, i.e. using credit card, debit card, or net banking. Candidates must keep in mind that the fee is refundable in nature (in case they are not allotted seats for any reasons).
  5. UPSEE 2020 counselling fee for OBC and general category candidates is INR 20,000 and for SC and ST category candidates is INR 12,000.

Step 2:

1. Aspirants will be now required to upload the required documents and get them verified in online mode. After document verification, the university will send a unique OTP to every candidate, which is to be used for the choice filling process.

2. The following documents are to be uploaded –

  • Class 10 and class 12 certificates and mark sheets
  • Category certificate (if applicable)
  • Certificate or undertaking of medical fitness
  • Character certificate
  • Domicile certificate
  • GDDA category certificate (if applicable)
  • Income certificate (for economically weak candidates)
  • Parents’ domicile certificate (if the candidate has passed qualifying exam outside Uttar Pradesh)
  • Rural weightage certificate (if applicable)
  • Sub category certificate (for freedom fighters, armed forces, and physically handicapped)
  • UPSEE 2020 admit card
  • UPSEE rank card 2020
  • Other required documents

Step 3:

  1. After document verification, the candidates will be able to fill in their preferred choices for their desired colleges and courses.
  2. Aspirants are required to use the OTP generated during the document verification round for choice filling.
  3. Candidates must fill in as many choices as possible, as the seats will be allotted on the basis of the choices made by the candidates.

Step 4:

  1. In online mode, AKTU will announce the round-wise seat allotment result for UPSEE 2020.
  2. The university will consider the UPSEE 2020 scores, cut off scores, preferences of colleges and courses, and availability of seats while allotting the seats to the UPSEE qualifiers.
  3. The candidates will then have to select the seat allotment options from freeze, float, and withdrawal in order to confirm the admissions.
  4. Freeze will be for candidates satisfied with the seats allotted to them, withdrawal option will be for candidates who wish to withdraw their admissions, and float option will be for candidates willing to upgrade their seats in the upcoming rounds of UPSEE counselling 2020.

Step 5:

  1. The last step would be reporting at the respective allotted colleges to complete the admission process. Aspirants will be required to report at the colleges allotted to them on the dates specified by the university.
  2. In case any candidate fails to be present for the admission process on the specified dates, their admissions will be automatically considered withdrawn.

UPSEE Counselling – Why are the spot rounds conducted during UPSEE Counselling 2020?

The spot rounds of counselling will be conducted by AKTU to fill in the vacant seats. The seats left vacant after the conduct of four rounds of counselling and seat allotment rounds will be filled during the spot counselling rounds. 

These spot rounds will be conducted in offline mode. The candidates will be required to register again for the spot rounds. Allotment of the seats will be done on the basis of the ranks secured by the candidates. Aspirants will be required to submit a demand draft of INR 7000 drawn in the favour of the Finance Officer, AKTU payable at Lucknow during sport rounds. 

The following candidates will be considered during spot counselling rounds –

  1. Candidates who have not been allotted any seats in the previous rounds.
  2. Candidates who got seats but failed to confirm their admissions.
  3. Candidates who couldn’t participate in the counselling rounds due to some circumstances.

UPSEE Counselling – Seat Reservation Criteria

During the counselling and seat allotment rounds, the university will follow the below mentioned seat reservation criteria. The seats will be allotted as per category in vertical and horizontal reservations.

Q. When will the university conduct the counselling process for UPSEE 2020?

After the declaration of the UPSEE 2020 result on 15th October 2020, AKTU will commence the counselling and seat allotment process from 19th October 2020.

Q. Has the university released the official dates for the UPSEE counselling process?
