The University Grants Commission has confirmed the extension of the admission deadline for the Open and Distance Learning (ODL) and online programmes by a month. Thus, aspiring candidates seeking to pursue ODL and online programmes can now apply till 31st December 2020. The previous deadline for the admissions in ODL and online programmes for the September-October 2020-21 session was 30th November 2020 but now the deadline has been extended by a month i.e December 31.
The UGC officials have advised all the higher education institutions offering ODL and online programmes to upload the admission dates on the official portal of UGC Distance Education Bureau by 15th January 2021.
UGC has also asked all the institutions to obey the respective regulations, UGC (ODL and online programmes) regulations 2020, UGC notification on the specification of degrees 2014 and other mandatory regulations of the UGC implemented for all the programmes offered in ODL and online modes.
The University Grants Commission is the apex body set up by the Government of India which is responsible for coordination and maintenance of standards for higher education in the country.
