SSC CGL Registration – SSC CGL is a popular exam in India which shortlists candidates for Group B and C posts in various ministries/departments/organisations of the Government of India. In the SSC CGL 2019, total 34 Group B and C posts were released by the commission. Around 30 lakhs students filled application form and 15 lakh aspirants appeared for the SSC CGL (staff selection commission, combined graduate level) exam.
The exam is conducted in four stages: first two stages (tiers) are conducted online and rest two are conducted in offline mode. It is conducted once a year and instructions for the exam are available in English as well as Hindi.

SSC CGL Registration – Latest Updates
On March 21, 2020 a tentative number of vacancies was released by the SSC, Government of India for SSC CGL 2019 exam. 8,582 vacancies have been announced for 34 posts.
For SSC CGL 2020 exam, on March 24, 2020, SSC announced 9488 vacancies for various posts.
Lately, on March 30, 2020 SSC notified that results for tier-I will be declared soon. However, SSC CGL tier-II 2020 exam is likely to be postponed due to the prevalent Covid-19 lockdown.

SSC CGL Registration – Application Status
Before we move on with the application process, let’s know the eligibility criteria for appearing in the SSC CGL exam.
- Candidate must be either a citizen of India, a person of India origin, subject of Nepal/Bhutan, or Tibetan refugee
- Candidate should be between 18 and 30 years in age
- Applicant should have completed a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university
Application Process
- Login onto the official website of SSC
- Create an account by filling the details such as name, father’s name, mother’s name, gender, date of birth, etc.
- Create a username and password to login for accessing the form.
- Upload a scanned photograph and signature on the portal
Provide further details such as education, communication address and move next to pay application fees.
- INR 100 is paid by general category male students whereas women (of all categories)/ Scheduled Caste (SC)/ Scheduled Tribe (ST)/ Persons with Disability (PwD)/ Ex-Servicemen (ESM) are exempted from this fee.
- The application process is completed once you complete the form, upload the required documents, and pay the fees.
Documents required for the application are
- Class 10th marksheet and Class 12th marksheet
- Scanned photo as per prescribed specifications
- Scanned signature
- Category certificate, if applicable
SSC CGL 2019-2020 application deadlines have already passed and status of the application was announced on January 28, 2020.
SSC CGL admit card 2019-20 for tier-I exam was released by Staff Selection Commission (SSC) for all regions such as Karnataka Kerala (KKR), Northern (NR), Southern (SR), North Eastern (NER), Eastern ER), North Western (NWR), Madhya Pradesh (MPR), Western (WR) and Central (CR) on Feb 26, 2020. Candidates with provisional application were able to download their SSC CGL admit card from the official regional websites of the commission. Candidates can download admit card by using details such as registration ID, roll number, and exam city.

Q. Is it recommended to keep an SSC CGL admit card after the tier 1 exam?
A. Applicants are advised to keep the document until the last stage of the recruitment process.
Q. Is it possible to change the exam centre after the issuance of the admit card?
A. It is not possible for candidates to change the exam centre after the admit card has been issued. Applicants are advised to select an exam centre suitable to his/her preference.
Q.What if your graduation results are awaiting, can you still apply?
A. Yes, you can apply for the SSC CGL by selecting the “result awaited” category if your final year results are yet to be declared by the college.
Q. Is it possible to pay application fee in offline mode?
A. Yes, you can pay the fees by generating bank challan in the offline mode.
