New Delhi, 9 February 2023 – SLPRB – The Assam Police is inviting applications for as many as 985 Safai Karmachari, Constable, Sub-Inspector (Communication), Sub-Inspector (Armed Branch), Sub-Officer, Emergency Rescuer, Tailor, and Dresser positions.

Candidates may submit their applications for the positions at the State Level Police Recruitment Board (SLPRB), Assam, by visiting slprbassam.in.

According to the Assam Police’s official notification, the application process commenced from 8 February 2023. The last date to apply is 22 February 2023.

SLPRB 2023 – Assam Police Recruitment – Eligibility and Selection Process

Age Limit

  • For the positions of Sub-Inspector (Communication), Sub-Inspector (Armed Branch), and Sub-Officer, applicants must be between the ages of 20 and 24. 
  • Candidates must be between the ages of 18 and 25 for the post of constable. For other roles, people between the ages of 18 and 40 may apply.

Age Relaxation

For All Positions
  • Five-year relaxation for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes (P) and Scheduled Tribe (H).
  • Three-year relaxation for candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes (OBC), and Minorities and Other Backward Classes (MOBC).

The upper age limit will be further relaxed for the candidates applying for the posts of Constable, and Sub-Inspector (Armed Branch).

Roles Additional Age Relaxation 
Constable Additional three-year relaxation for candidates who have served for a period of three years or more as Home Guard.
Sub-Inspector (Armed Branch) Additional three-year relaxation for national and international sportspersons who have competed for India or the Assam state team in a discipline that is recognised by the Indian Olympic Association and the International Olympic Committee.

  • Candidates must have passed Class 6 from a recognised school or institution as a minimum qualification.
  • The maximum qualification for candidates will be Class 12 completed from a recognised board or council.
  • A training certificate issued by Sector Skill Council (SSC) will carry 5 marks for candidates.
    Or
    A minimum one-year work experience certificate from municipality board, government departments, and a registered NGO will carry 5 marks for applicants.

  • Candidates must have passed Class 10 or an equivalent examination from a recognised board or council.
  • They must possess a valid driving license for Light Motor Vehicle (LMV), Mechanic Motor Vehicle (MMV) or Heavy Motor Vehicle (HMV).
Constable (Carpenter)
  • Candidates must have passed Class 10 or an equivalent examination from a recognised board or council.
  • Candidates must have passed a relevant trade course at an Industrial Training Institute (ITI).
Sub-Inspector (Communication) Candidates must have completed a B.Sc. in Electronics Science, Information Technology, or Computer Science.

Or

Three-year diploma from a State Polytechnic in Electronics and Telecommunications, or Electronics or Information Technology, or Instrumentation, or Computer Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent, with two years of work experience in the field of Electronics, Telecom, IT, or an allied environment.

Or

A three-year diploma from a State Polytechnic in Electronics and Telecommunications, or Electronics or Information Technology, or Instrumentation, or Computer Engineering, or Computer Science, or equivalent, and two years of additional course or courses in Telecommunication, Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.

Or

Master of Computer Application (MCA)

Or

Bachelor of Engineering / Bachelor of Technology in Electronics and Telecommunication, or Computer Science, or Instrumentation, or Information Technology, or equivalent qualification in the same discipline.
Sub-Inspector (Armed Branch) The candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in Arts, Science, Commerce or a related field from a recognised college or institution affiliated with a recognised university.
Sub-Officer Candidates must have completed Class 12 (Science) from a recognised board or council with passing marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM).
Emergency Rescuer Candidates must have completed Class 12 (Science) from a recognised board or council.
Tailor
  • Candidates must have passed Class 10 or an equivalent examination from a recognised board or council.
  • Candidates must possess a Diploma in Tailoring from an institute recognised by the government of Assam.
  • Candidates must have the ability to operate both automatic and manual (foot/hand-driven) sewing machines.
  • Candidates must be familiar with fabric, the human body shape, sewing equipment, and so on.
Dresser
  • Candidates must have passed Class 10 or an equivalent examination from a recognised board or council.
  • Candidates must be familiar with contamination, sterilisation and disinfection of instruments, the preparation of chlorine solution, and antiseptic and aseptic conditions.
  • They must know about decontamination procedures, cleaning and bandaging wounds and other affected body parts.
