PSEB Class 12 Board Exam 2021 – Exams Might be Held for 3 Main Subjects Only

New Delhi, 25 May 2021: The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) is likely to conduct the Class 12 exams in June 2021 only for three major subjects (for each stream). Students must note that the Punjab Board Class 12 examination dates are still to be announced. The new schedule will be released after reviewing the COVID-19 situation in the state.

Note: PSEB is yet to provide a specific method which would help in deciding the major subjects from each stream. The board also has to provide an assessment method to formulate marks for the students appearing for the examination.Β

The suggestion of holding exams for only three major subjects was suggested by the central government in a high-level meeting held on May 23, 2021, which was chaired by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh in the presence of various other ministers and the state education secretaries. The second option suggested was to hold exams in a short answer-type pattern.Β

In the meeting, PSEB Chairman Yog Raj Sharma stated that the question papers are already prepared, and the answer sheets have also been made available for the PSEB Class 12 board exams 2021. While addressing the media, the PSEB Chairman added – β€œWe are ready with our question papers but we also are preparing for the medical protocols. We will conduct the exams with utmost safety. We already have 2600 exam centres and will consider increasing the number further as students will be made to sit six feet apart during the exams.”

Sharma also specified that β€œIf a student is not satisfied with the result, he/she can write to the board and the theory exam will be taken once the Covid-19 situation eases.”
