NEET Cutoff for JIPMER – Dates, Expected & Previous Years’ Cutoffs

Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research or JIPMER is regarded as one of the most coveted institutions in India for undergraduate and postgraduate medical education. Till 2019, JIPMER used to conduct its own entrance test for admissions to undergraduate and postgraduate medical programmes at two its campuses – Pondicherry and Karaikal. However, on October 4th 2019, Dr. Harsh Vardhan, the Minister of Health and Family Welfare, officially announced that from 2020 onwards, admissions to the undergraduate and postgraduate medical programmes at JIPMER will be granted through NEET. Thus, this article would lay emphasis on the cutoff trends for JIPMER through NEET 2020, and also feature the previous years’ cutoffs for the reputed medical college.

Important Update- National Testing Agency conducted the NEET UG 2020 on 13th September 2020. More than 15.97 lakh candidates appeared for the exam. Exam Analysts have rated the exam comparatively “easier” than the previous year. Surprisingly, Physics section proved to be comparatively easier than Chemistry and Biology. Candidates have also praised the exam conducting body for utmost safety measures taken throughout the day of the exam.

Important Update-Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has announced the 1st round NEET UG 2020 counselling result for JIPMER on 7th November 2020. The last date to register for 2nd round counselling session has also been extended to 16th November 2020.

NEET Cutoff for JIPMER – Highlights

  1. There are a total of 100 seats available in JIPMER Pondicherry campus and 50 seats in Karaikal campus through NEET 2020.
  2. NEET Cutoff for JIPMER 2020 is expected to be at par with other top medical institutions in the country such as Maulana Azad Medical College, University College of Medical Sciences, AIIMS, VMMC and Safdarjung Hospital.
  3. More than 78,000 candidates out of the 1,54,000 passed the qualifying score in the JIPMER 2018 test.
  4. NEET Cutoff for JIPMER is expected to be released in the later half of October 2020.
  5. JIPMER, Pondicherry would conduct the NEET counselling for JIPMER 2020.
