The National Testing Agency (NTA) released the official JEE Main application form 2021 for the March session on 2nd March 2021. Recently, the NTA decided to re-open the application form of JEE Main March 2021 examination. Candidates who are aspiring to get admissions in undergraduate programs in NITs, IIITs, and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs) etc. in the next academic year i.e., 2021-22, can visit the official website – jeemain.nta.nic.in to access the β€˜JEE (Main) 2021 New Registration and Registration Form Correction’ facility.

Note: Candidates must note that there is some confusion pertaining to the last application form submission date, due to the official notice put up by NTA. As per the official notice, while March 9 (9 pm) as well as March 10 (up to 9 am) has been mentioned as the deadline to submit the JEE Main 2021 online application form, March 10 (up to 11:59 am) has been referred to as the deadline for the final fee payment. In such a case, candidates are advised to fill and submit their JEE Main application form 2021 by March 9 (9 pm) to avoid any issues later.

Meanwhile, candidates must not be disheartened if they aren’t able to register for the March session of JEE Main 2021. As NTA has announced to conduct JEE Main exam 4 times a year from 2021, the JEE Main registration process will also be held 4 times before the respective exam dates.

  • The first session has been successfully conducted from 23rd February to 26th February 2021.
  • The second session is scheduled to be conducted from 15th March to 18th March 2021
  • The third session will be held from 27th April to 30th April 2021
  • The fourth session is scheduled to be conducted from 24th May to 28th May 2021

To fill the JEE Main application form 2021, candidates have to follow several steps including registering themselves online, filling in the asked information, payment of application fee, uploading documents, and final submission of the filled application form. While the male candidates have to pay Rs. 650 as the application fee, female/SC/ST/PwD/Transgender candidates have to pay Rs. 350 for the same.

In continuation of the public notice dated 16th December 2020, NTA informed that March and April sessions will be conducted for JEE Main Paper 1 only.

Candidates must note that the JEE Main 2021 March (Session-2) and April (Session-3) exams will be conducted only for Paper 1 (i.e., B.E./BTech). All those aspirants who wish to appear for B. Arch (Paper 2A) and B. Planning (Paper 2B) will have to wait till the May 2021 session of JEE Main 2021.

JEE Main Application 2021 – Guidelines for Uploading Photograph and Signature

  1. The photograph should not be taken wearing sunglasses or a cap
  2. Polaroid and Computer-generated photographs are not acceptable
  3. Photos of candidates wearing spectacles are allowed only if they use them regularly
  4. Unclear photographs are liable to be rejected
  5. Forehead, eyes, nose, and chin should be visible and the print should be of clear contrast
  6. The photo should not have ‘red eye’
  7. Self-composed portraits or photos taken using mobile may result in rejection of the application
  8. Main features of the face should not be covered by cloth, hair, or shadow
  9. For scanned signature, the scanner resolution should be a minimum of 200 dpi (dots per inch)
  10. The colour set should be Colour to True Colour
  11. Candidate has to sign on white paper with a black ink pen
  12. If the candidate’s signature on the answer script does not match the signature on the admit card, the candidate will be considered rejected.

Flexible Registration Fee Payment Option

To make the JEE Main registration procedure more student-friendly (financially), NTA has provided students with the option to register themselves for one session or more than one session (March /April /May 2021) together and pay the exam fee accordingly.

In case a candidate wishes to apply for only one exam session, he/she has to only pay the application fee for the examination of that session during this current registration period. However, if they want to apply again for the remaining April/May sessions, they can do so when NTA again opens the registration window before the other two JEE Main exam sessions.

Furthermore, NTA also stated that the candidates who have already applied for the entrance exam can carry forward their paid JEE Main application fees to another session of JEE Main 2021.

Documents to Keep After Submitting JEE Main 2021 Application Form

Post JEE Main registration process, candidates need to preserve the list of documents highlighted below:

  • JEE Main admit card 2021 issued by NTA and downloaded from the official website

What After JEE Main Application 2021?

After the JEE Main application process gets completed successfully, NTA releases the admit cards for the upcoming examination. Candidates can find their respective admit cards from the official NTA JEE website once the exam authority releases them.

They are required to carry the hardcopy of the admit card along with the COVID-19 self-declaration form on the date of examination. No candidates will be allowed to sit for the exam if they fail to present their admit cards.

What Can Be Changed/Edited During JEE Main Form Correction?

NTA has provided permission to edit/ change specific factors in the JEE Main application form 2021:

  1. Choice of Paper – The choice of paper can be edited/ changed. In case candidates opt for an additional paper, the balance fee needs to be paid.
  2. Personal Information –  Spelling mistakes in names, parent’s names can be corrected.
  3. Language of Examination – Candidates can change the language of examination from one to another.
  4. Academic Details –  Details related to school, year of passing, and qualifying exam can be rectified.
  5. Exam Centres – Students can even change the exam centres within the given rectification period and not after that.
  6. Category –  NTA allows candidates to make changes in the category as well
  • Candidates need to pay a balance fee if they change their category from reserved to general
  • No fee will be refunded if the category is changed from general to reserved
