e-Adhigam Scheme: 3 Lakh Tablets Distributed to Students by Haryana Govt

New Delhi, 7th May 2022: The Haryana government launched the “e-Adhigam” scheme on Thursday, distributing over 3 lakh tablets to government school students in Classes 10 and 12. These devices have preloaded content, personalised and adaptive learning software, and 2 GB of free data. The government plans to give the devices to five lakh students from Classes 10 to-12. However, it stated that Class 11 students will receive them after passing the Class 10 board exams and qualifying for the next year.ย

“From next year, all classes from 9 to 12 would be covered,” said Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar after launching the Advance Digital Haryana Initiative of Government with Adaptive Modules (Adigham) scheme at Maharishi Dayanand University in Rohtak.

During COVID-19, Khattar stated that many families struggled to upgrade their children to online education, and that the project was an attempt to address this concern.

The tablet is the new school, and “through e-books, it has evolved into a full-fledged classroom” in accordance with the New Education Policy. The country has established a goal of implementing the policy by 2030. The priority is education and Rs 20,000 crore of the state budget of over Rs 1.70 lakh crore has been set out for education alone.
