New Delhi, 6 August 2021 – The Delhi University (DU) School of Open Learning (SOL) has added 16 new off-beat certificate courses for Class 12 pass-out students. The host institution, Campus of Open Learning (COL, University of Delhi), along with its existing industry training partner, RK Educational Trust, will be offering these courses in both online and offline mode from the academic year 2021-22.
On 19th July 2021, DU laid the foundation of its new Regional Centre (West) of School of Open Learning (SOL) in Keshavpuram. The inauguration of the School of Open Learning, West Delhi Centre was headed by Vice-Chancellor Prof. P C Joshi and Dr. Vikas Gupta (Registrar) with other dignitaries including Prof. US Pandey (Principal, SOL) and Prof. Balram Pani (Director, COL).

DU School of Open Learning – Eligibility
To apply for admission in these 16 courses, the candidates must have completed their higher secondary education (class 12). Students who have already enrolled in various other institutions can also apply for any of the above courses.
Note: Students who will complete these courses will be awarded certificates issued by Delhi University.
DU SOL Certificates to be Considered by PSUs
These 16 courses have been offered to students keeping in mind the critical skills that they need to develop for the professional world. Deepak Bansal, Director of RK Educational Group, the organization associated with the Delhi University as a training partner, stated, “There has been a sharp rise of the students learning such curricula ranging from 4 months to 10 months along with the degree programmes.”
Even Prof. U.S Pandey, Principal, School of Open Learning, Delhi University highlighted how lucrative the courses are. According to him, compared to other private certificate courses, students may consider these DU certifications since they are pocket-friendly. Besides, these certificates have a plausibility to be considered by various PSUs or government jobs as they will be from Delhi University.
He also added, “The training will be offered by experienced professionals. They will work with the training partners in addition to using industry-mapped topics. These DU certificate courses are also open to students studying in other institutions or universities whether located in or outside Delhi.”
According to DU and its training partners, such off-beat courses are meant to broaden the creative thinking of the undertakers. It will also assist in building their CV, which shall act as a thrust/boost in their professional domain.
