DU Admissions Schedule – Important Dates & Admission Process

Delhi University or University of Delhi has postponed the schedule of admission-related events for the academic session 2020. The application window closed on 31st August 2020 and candidates must now wait for the official announcement regarding the commencement of the counselling process for admissions in UG courses. However, DU recently announced the schedule for the DUET 2020. DUET (Delhi University Entrance Test) is the eligibility test which candidates must pass in order to get admission in some UG and PG courses. The admit cards for the DUET 2020 were released by NTA on 29th August 2020. The DUET 2020 will now be conducted from 6th September to 11th September 2020.

The University of Delhi will soon announce the commencement of the admission process for UG aspirants and candidates must keep a regular check on this page for updated notifications.Β  At the moment, candidates who look forward to applying for UG programmes in DU must assemble all the required documents and wait for the release of the seat allotment list for the year 2020. On the other hand, candidates who have applied for PG programmes in DU must secure eligible marks in DUET 2020 to be granted admissions. DUET 2020 will be conducted from 6th September to 11th September 2020. It is crucial to know for the candidates that 50% of the PG courses require the candidates to qualify the DU entrance test, which is also known as DUET (Delhi University Entrance Test). A few colleges in DU also accept the DUET for UG courses like B.A (Hons) Business Economics, Bachelor of Management Studies, B.A (Hons) Humanities and Social Sciences, amongst others. It is interesting to note that the application form for DU is applicable for all the affiliated DU colleges except for two – St.Stephens College and Jesus and Mary College. These 2 colleges conduct their own application process.

DU Admission Schedule – DUET Entrance Schedule

The DUET (Delhi University Entrance Test) is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on behalf of the Delhi University. The test is a gateway for admission into few DU colleges for both UG and PG courses.Β  The schedule for the DUET 2020 is given below –Β

DU Admission Schedule – Process and Brief Description

Registration/Application – Aspiring candidates for both UG and PG courses must initially apply for the registration form. To do so, candidates have to:

  1. Visit the official website of DU and click on the β€˜Registration Link’.Β 
  2. Create a login account at the DU Portal.Β 
  3. Fill basic academic and personal details and proceed further for the application form.Β 
  4. Fill both academic and personal credentials in the application form and finally pay the application fee (as per the category).

Cut offs and Seat allotment – After the submission of application form, candidates must wait for the release of cut off lists. The DU Admission UG cut offs are expected to be released in 8 rounds for the academic session 2020. Seats will be allotted on the basis of merit and after the allotment of seats, aspirants have to visit the college centre for the verification of documents and the approval of admission. Candidates must finally pay the fee of the course they have opted for at the allotted campus.

Admission (via Entrance Test) – Candidates appearing for the DUET test must wait for the announcement of the result. After the result of the DUET exam is announced, the qualifying candidates must clear an interview round to be eligible for the admissions. Delhi University will release 5 merit lists of cutoffs along with the admission list. Eligible candidates have to then visit the allotted college for document verification and approval of admission. Aspirants must finally pay the admission fee and wait for the commencement of the session.
