Important Update- Indian Institute of Management, Indore has notified on its official website that the CAT 2020 will be conducted on 29th November 2020. The official confirmation has also been made regarding the “mode of conduct” for the exam. The CAT 2020 will be conducted in Computer-based test mode in three shifts. Also, CAT 2020 Admit Cards will be released on the 28th October 2020.

  6. Click on ‘download’ tab and save on desktop

1. Candidates must use one of these three web browsers to download the CAT Admit Card:

Internet Explorer (version 11 and above) 

Mozilla Firefox (version 50 to 61)

2. To download the admit card, candidates must remember his/her valid CAT login ID and password.

CAT Admit Card – Common Errors

Every year, lakhs of students go through the CAT application process leading to errors in a few applications. As a result, sometimes wrong information is printed on the admit card which can lead to further complications, if not rectified immediately. Hence, candidates are advised to check for the following errors in the admit card before the exam:

  1. The name of the candidate should not be misspelled.
  2. The CAT registration number must be the same as the registered user ID.
  3. Date of birth should be the same as mentioned in the application form and in official documents.
  4. Birth category status should be correct.
  5. PwD/DA status should be correct.
  6. Test city must be from one of the four options mentioned in the application form.
  7. Candidate’s photograph and signature must be clearly visible.

Problems Faced While Downloading CAT Admit Card 2020

Official Website Applicants might face a slow website due to heavy traffic, expected especially on dates closer to CAT 2020. It is advisable to download the CAT 2020 Admit Card as early as possible. If you still face such issues, try at a different time.
Internet Connectivity A slow internet connection is likely to cause hindrance in the process. Make sure to check your internet connection.
Wrong Credentials Login credentials received at the time of the registration will be required for downloading the admit card also. If you have lost or forgot the credentials, click on the forgot password option. Follow the instructions for obtaining a new password and login to download.

Candidates must carry only the following things on the day of the exam:

1. Admit card (at least two copies)

2. Recent passport size photograph

CAT Admit Card  – Exam Day Instructions

  1. Candidates are required to bring along at least two copies of the CAT 2020 Admit Card and a photo ID proof (original and photocopy).
  2. ONLY the CAT admit card and photo ID are allowed inside the exam hall.
  3. Stationery such as a writing pad and pen will be provided for rough work by the examination centre and these have to be returned after the test. The candidates must write their name and registration number on the writing pad.
  4. Candidates must reach the CAT examination centre on the specified reporting time to complete the identification formalities. Candidates must report at 7:30 a.m. for the forenoon session and at 1:00 p.m. for the afternoon session.
  5. Candidates may check the reference number mentioned on the admit card for identifying the door/wing/lab of the examination centre.
  6. The candidates must remember that they should not sign their CAT admit card beforehand. The admit card is to be signed only inside the examination hall in front of the invigilator.
  7. The candidates are required to affix the same photo as uploaded on the application form.
  8. Mobile phones, calculators, iPad or any gadget is strictly prohibited inside the examination hall.
  9. The candidates are advised not to carry bags or luggage to the CAT 2020 examination centre. 
  10. Jewellery that contains metal, clothes with pockets, jackets and footwear are prohibited inside the examination centre.
  11. Candidates with a metal implant, pacemaker, etc. in their body are required to bring along a medical certificate in support of it.

CAT Admit Card – FAQs

✔️ What is the purpose of ‘reference number’ on the CAT admit card?

The purpose of the reference number on the CAT admit card is to help a candidate in locating the floor/wing/lab of the test centre where he/she will be seated. After the exam, there is no use of the reference number.

✔️ Is it possible to download the CAT admit card on smartphones?

Yes, as long as the smartphone supports one of the three browsers (Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer), the admit card can be downloaded.

✔️ In case I forget to carry my CAT Admit Card to the exam centre, can I show a digital copy of it?

No. Only an original printout of the CAT admit card is accepted at the examination centre. You are advised to carry at least two printed copies of the CAT admit card to your examination centre.

✔️ How can I download my CAT Admit Card in case I forget my CAT 2020 login password?

In case you forget your CAT login password, you can generate a new password by clicking on the ‘Forgot User ID/Password’ option on the candidate’s login window. The link to reset the password will be sent to your registered email address.

✔️ What is the Test System Number on the CAT admit card?

The Test System Number cited on the CAT admit card helps a candidate identify the floor and computer system at the examination centre.

✔️ Can I change my CAT exam centre after the admit card has been issued?

No. Once the admit card is issued, no changes can be made in the test centre. The test centre options are filled during the application filling process. The exam centre will be allotted based on the best possible exam slot available as per the priority mentioned by you in the application form.

✔️ Will I receive a hard copy of my CAT admit card?

No, the CAT admit card 2020 will be available online only and can only be downloaded from the official website by the candidates themselves. The IIM officials don’t send any hard copy of admit cards to the candidates.
