New Delhi, 29 April 2022 – The JEE Main 2022 exam session-1 is all set to be conducted on June 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, and 29, respectively. With over 40 days to go, candidates need to gear up for the final days of revision. They also need to ensure that all important and high-scoring topics are covered before the day of the JEE examination. All this can be done by having a proper JEE Main preparation timetable.
To make it easier for students to revise all the important concepts, formulas, and theories before the JEE Main exam, we present candidates with a complete 40-day JEE Main 2022 preparation strategy. This can also act as a structured timetable for aspirants to base their studies on. The structure provided leaves no room for second-guessing and candidates will get the most out of it if they follow it religiously.

- Mathematics contains 16 units.
- Chemistry contains three sections – A (Physical Chemistry), B (Organic Chemistry), and C (Inorganic Chemistry). Section A and Section B have 10 units each, while Section C has 8 units – making a total of 28 units in the chemistry syllabus.
- Physics contains two sections – A and B. Section A has 20 units and Section B has 1 unit – making a total of 21 units in the physics syllabus.
JEE Main 2022 – New Additions This Year
- JEE Main will be held in two sessions this year – June and July, 2022.
- The number of attempts for the exam is now two times per year.
- The JEE Main exam will be conducted in 13 regional languages, including English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi, Malayalam, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.
- There will be negative marking for both Section A (MCQ) and Section B (Numerical Value).
- To compute the JEE Main All India Rank (AIR), the best of the score will be taken from the two given attempts. If a student attempts the paper once, only that attempt will count towards rank calculation.
- Family’s annual income (total family income per year) is a mandatory field in the exam and all candidates have to provide correct details of the same.
JEE Main Preparation Timetable 2022
With nearly 40 days to go, we understand the importance of a properly structured JEE Main preparation timetable that also leaves enough room for one more round of revision.
This is why we have provided an 18-day unit-wise study plan (for all subjects) that aspirants can repeat twice. After completing the 36-day plan (18 days + 18 days), candidates can use the remaining days to revise topics as per their choice.
How to Prepare for JEE Main 2022?

JEE Main Preparation – General Tips
- Give equal importance to all subjects.
- Take a break of at least 5 to 10 minutes after every one or two hours of regular study.
- Stay relaxed and do not study overnight.
- Sleep for at least 7-8 hours at night.
- Avoid study material with repetitive questions.
- Do not ignore NCERT books, as they are enough to solve the conceptual problems in the examination.
- Pay attention to the JEE Main 2021 question paper.
- Attempt mock test papers.
- Take short naps in the afternoon to maintain freshness. However, do not oversleep during the day.
- On the day of the exam, spend the first 15 minutes reading the instructions of the question paper .
